I've edited a wide variety of publications: I was a founder and executive editor of The Industry Standard, assistant managing editor of Parenting, managing editor of The East Bay Monthly, and most recently, executive director and editor of San Francisco Classical Voice. I was most recently the chief content editor of the Jack Welch Management Institute, helping develop the curriculum of the Jack Welch MBA. I have also been the editor of a September 2011 special supplement of Stanford Social Innovation Review titled "Innovating for More Affordable Health Care." You can read more about my experience in my resume.

My clients hire me to edit because of my more than 20 years of editing experience at a wide variety of national and local publications; my strong attention to both the small details and the big picture; and the perspective on writing I've gained as a writer for numerous publications.

"Only 10 business editors in the country can do what Mickey Butts does with the written word," says Suzy Welch, coauthor, with Jack Welch, of the international bestseller Winning, and former editor-in-chief of Harvard Business Review.
